about
The 4th in the JT Project Series, Emilie-Claire Barlow is joined by Grammy Award winning vocalist David Blamires on “Music”
From James Taylor’s 1975 album Gorilla, this fresh interpretation of “Music” is the joyful, uplifting sound we need right now. “Music” is a feel-good adult contemporary pop track, featuring two gorgeous voices blending in perfect harmony, accompanied by a rich instrumental backing of Rhodes, organ, guitars, percussion and horns.
Joining the duo on backing vocals is James Taylor’s long time vocalist Arnold McCuller, lending his signature classic R&B sound to the choir.
lyrics
Things may always stay the way they are
Still my head looks for a change from time to time
I don't really mean to look that far
Gimme music
Turn on the music
Let the music change my mind
Now don't I dig the big time rock and roll
To sit in the darkness and be somebody else
A time which after all is under control
Gimme music
Strike up the music (strike up the music)
Let the music fill the air
My dear friend your head's been sinking like a stone
You must try thinking like a cloud sometime
Just leave a happy side out loud sometime
There's a symphony inside you
There's a thousand things for you to do
So come on
Let a hush fall on the movie crowd
Boy turns to girl and says I love you so
What I hear in here is violins
Give me music, (ooh)
Turn on the music
Let the music be there too, oh
Gimme the music
Turn up the music
Let the music be there too
You see this man his head's been sinking like a stone
You must try thinking like a cloud sometime
Just leave a happy side out loud sometime
There's a symphony inside you
There's a thousand things for you to do
So come on
Let a hush fall on the movie crowd (ooh, ooh, ooh)
Boy turns to girl and says I love you so (well, you know)
What I hear in here is violins
Gimme music
Turn on the music
Gimme that music
Turn up the music (yeah yeah)
Gimme music
Turn on the music
Let the music be there too
You never know what to do
Unless you let that music be there too
Gimme music
Turn on the music
Gimme that music
Turn up the music
Gimme music
Turn on the music
Gimme that music
Turn up the music
oooh
Gimme that music
Turn up the music
Gimme music
Turn on the music
Gimme that music
Turn up the music
Ooh
Let the music be there too
Gimme music
